Ashutosh Bhatt joined MediBuddy in December 2022 as a CareBuddy with Surgery Care.
Situation
A man in his early thirties (age: 31) was suffering from excruciating pain in his groin area.
Customer problem
Every movement felt like fire searing through his groin. Lying on the sterile bed of Aster Hospital in Hyderabad, the patient could hardly think straight. His mind raced between the agony and the looming fear of an uncertain future. The doctors had recommended a circumcision surgery, stating it was the best course of action. But the cost—₹1,20,000—was an insurmountable mountain for him, especially since his insurance wouldn't cover the procedure.
How I went ahead and displayed customer obsession to help the customer
The patient got in touch with me, his CareBuddy – Ashutosh Bhatt and explained his health condition. On the other end, I ensured that the patient is calm, and reassured him by saying that I am here to help him and will do more than my best to ensure he recovers at the earliest.
I listened to him intently, and then seized the opportunity to introduce him to MediBuddy's Surgery Care program. Explaining all the benefits clearly, I detailed how the program could cover his surgery costs, making the process seamless and stress-free. The patient’s worry started to ease as hope flickered within him. I immediately swung into action, taking charge of everything. I collected the necessary prescriptions and documents, arranged for a cab to transport him from Aster Hospital to Himagiri hospital, and raised a pre-authorization request.
Upon arrival, the patient was admitted and underwent all the required tests and scans. The hospital staff, now well-informed and coordinated thanks to the CareBuddy, ensured that he was thoroughly examined to confirm he was fit for the surgery. This all happened swiftly, within a single day.
The consultation was smooth, and the surgery was scheduled for later that same day. As the patient was prepped for surgery, he felt a sense of peace. The surgery went on for approximately 30 minutes and was completed successfully.

With each passing day, his health improved, and he left the days of severe groin pain behind him. His journey through outpatient visits, hospital admission, the surgery and followup consultations had brought him relief and restored his well-being.
